Hi! I’m Brenna. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying reading through my blog, my recipes, and our Crunchy life adventures!
Although most of my posts ARE food related (because let’s face it, I love food, my husband loves food…and chances are, you do as well…or you wouldn’t be here), I will throw in the occasional cleaning tip, general health tip, funny stories about my life or my kids…really anything. So I hope you will take a look around and enjoy our Crunchy Mountain Life!
Here’s a little bit more information about us:
I’m a SAHM (for those not aware, that stands for Stay At Home Mom) of 3 beautiful Crunchy Mountain Kiddos: J-Man (my 5 year old), The Nugget (my 3 year old), and Little Miss T (my 21 month old and BEST eater of the 3). I’m married to the
sweetest manliest of all manly mountain men.
My amazing, bearded hubby and I started the “real food” journey for our family a few weeks into the new year. This past Christmas, my sister-in-law gifted me the “100 Days of Real Food” cookbook, by Lisa Leake, and it forever changed our lives! We decided that we just ate way. too. much. junk. and knew we wanted to be healthier, and to teach our kids to be healthier….and that healthy food didn’t have to be tasteless.
We live in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, in a small little town of Boone…maybe you’ve heard of it? We built our home and moved in, in the early Spring of 2011…only months before welcoming our first child into the world. Sweet J-man.
Two years later, God blessed us with another sweet boy…The Nugget.
Just when we thought we were done, God decided to give me a sweet little girl. It was actually because of Little Miss T’s 6 week-early arrival, that started us on the path of a crunchier, healthier lifestyle. We started using essential oils for everyday “stuff” that we might encounter, and even switched from the chemical laden cleaners, to an all-natural cleaning option. Little did we know what major (and wonderful) lifestyle changes were ahead of us!
So together, we are now a family of 5. Real food eaters, essential oil users, cloth diaper-ers (is that even a word?), baby-wearers, and Jesus lovers, living life one crunchy day at a time.
